The Way Through: How to Embrace Your Fears and Live Your Dreams
Life can be an incredible adventure.
Intuitively I think we know that, but that’s not the life many of us lead. Most of us are stopped by one thing: fear. The fear that stops us from living out our dream, from trying the “impossible” and from realizing our potential. The ironic thing is, on the other side of fear, is what we most want to achieve. Only when we’re consistently putting ourselves on the line and facing perceived limits, that’s where countless potential opens up.
The alternative, playing it safe and settling for mediocrity, leads to boredom, depression, and even disease.
Courage comes from learning how to embrace that fear. From engaging with it and not running away. We can look for ways to engage our fear so we can in fact take the steps to do the things you want to do.
My conversation today on The Way Through is David Miln Smith, “The Most Interesting Man Alive.” He is arguably the first modern adventure athlete, the real life “Indiana Jones”, the pioneer of extreme sports. He describes himself as just a regular guy, but a regular guy that has somehow done extraordinary things. He’s the man who made fear his friend.
On this episode David and I discuss:
How you go from being an unfulfilled person, hitting rock bottom to living the life you dream of?
Surrendering to your dreams and the things you want to do.
The importance of patience and the importance of preparation.
How living your dream requires you to put yourself on the line.
The secret way to view fear so you’re able to face it and manage it.
