The Way Through: Making A Difference With What You Believe In

Change takes something, doesn’t it? We see this play out in the world today on both sides of the aisle. There are so many points, counterpoints, roadblocks, naysayers… how does someone take an idea and break through?

There are plenty of methodologies and process suggestions, but at the end of the day it seems to take something that’s not quite as tangible: courage and resilience. It takes reaching into ourselves to continue to take steps forward.

Courage used to be thought about as having to do with facing danger, or something you needed for challenging adventures, like exploring oceans and summiting mountains. About trekking the infamous Oregon trail or surviving the Outback. There are countless examples of people doing those kinds of things today as you have seen on other episodes of The Way Through, to build their resilience.

But today I want to talk about having a different sort of courage. The courage it takes to speak your mind. To step into the battleground of words, perspectives, and ideas. The courage it takes to look at long term perspectives vs. something that might be popular (or not popular) right now.

Deep inside I think a lot of us want to “change the world” and my guest today is taking a stand for something that big…

On this episode Zuby and I discuss:

  • Openness to your beliefs being challenged

  • Constantly being intellectually curious, challenging yourself, beliefs and your own ideas

  • Courage and resilience

  • Individual psychology vs. group psychology

  • Spinning negative things into positive results

  • If you want to make a change, you have to entirely reprogram

  • How using whatever is stopping you, or something negative, can be turned into positive results
