Skydiving Everest for a Cause

The highest skydive “drop zone” in the world is on Mt. Everest; my friend and colleague Mike Sarraille is about to make an attempt at it to honor Extortion 17. I want us all to go along for the ride (virtually anyway).

More than 10 years have passed since the greatest single-incident loss of U.S. lives in the war on terror happened in Afghanistan, known as Extortion 17. 31 Americans lost their lives when their CH-47 plane was shot down by the Taliban on August 6th, 2011 as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mike, a former Recon Marine, Scout-Sniper, and retired U.S. Navy SEAL, is teaming up with Legacy Expeditions and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation to skydive Mt. Everest with the goal of raising $500,000 for the families of the deceased.

The funds will specifically go to support the 25 children who lost a parent on that tragic day. All proceeds will be directed towards the children’s education in the form of college scholarships and educational counseling.

Just out of special training here in Colorado, Mike has been learning about  techniques and essential equipment necessary to breathe at the dizzying altitudes he’ll be jumping from, only building on the over 700 jumps he has already made in the line of duty. I was apparently just a few jumps short of being able to join him.

Mike served in Afghanistan alongside his brothers in arms that passed in Extortion 17, and he needs our help to secure education for their children and honor their memory. You can donate any amount here: legacyexpeditions.net

You won’t want to miss this daring, incredible feat in memory of the Americans who lost their lives on that fateful day in 2011. You can follow Mike HERE.

Godspeed and good luck, Mike. We’re behind you, #NoMatterWhat.
